Job Description
Join the PC Dreams Group as a Technical Specialist and play a crucial role in driving our mission forward. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the evaluation, testing, refurbishment, and data wiping of incoming ICT devices. This role is critical in ensuring devices meet our quality standards for resale and that processes are securely and compliantly executed.
Key responsibilities:
1. Technical Operations
- Assess and grade ICT devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktops) based on external and functional conditions.
- Conduct functional testing and diagnostics on incoming and outgoing ICT devices to ensure performance and reliability.
- Perform secure data erasure in compliance with ISO 27001 standards and company SOPs, issuing certificates to clients upon request.
- Carry out repairs and part replacements for ICT devices, including batteries, screens, and hard drives, while adhering to technical safety protocols.
- Oversee warranty repair services, including post-sales technical support and RMA status updates, while maintaining accurate device status records in internal systems.
- Ensure inventory records and device statuses are updated promptly and accurately in internal systems, following ISO 27001 data security requirements.
- Adhere to best practices and compliance guidelines in all technical operations, ensuring alignment with ISO 27001 standards.
- Utilize digital tools, such as Google Sheets and internal systems, to collect and manage data in accordance with ISO 27001 data compliance protocols.
- Maintain workplace safety by keeping workspaces organized and equipment well-maintained.
- Stay current on emerging tools, technologies, and industry best practices related to ICT devices and ISO 27001 compliance.
2. Communication & Collaboration
- Effectively coordinate across departments to support smooth operational workflows and meet organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with refurbishment supervisors to ensure part-ordering processes comply with procurement and ISO 27001 guidelines.
- Update device inventory and status in internal systems accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to ISO 27001 guidelines.
Qualifications & experience:
- ITE Certificate or Diploma in IT, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated experience in device diagnostics, repairs, and technical support.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 standards and their application in data security and operational compliance.
- Sustainability Commitment: Passion for sustainability and advancing zero e-waste initiatives.
