myhalo’s Founder and CEO, Tan Ching Hwee, was honoured to be invited as the keynote speaker at an event hosted by LFA Studio and Ngee Koon Pte Ltd, in collaboration with Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Design & Environment.
The session, emceed by Andrew Chan, brought together students and speakers for an engaging discussion on the role of design in shaping sustainable futures. Among the guest speakers was Eunice Yeo, who shared powerful insights on the importance of strengthening the community through creativity and collaboration.
In his keynote, Ching Hwee highlighted how design thinking plays a crucial role in tackling complex environmental issues, particularly e-waste. He shared the story behind ReEco, a myhalo initiative that reimagines the resale of defective or flawed devices, giving them a second life instead of sending them to landfills.
From “imperfect” tech sold transparently, to community-based repair, donation, and upcycling initiatives, the talk emphasised how sustainability is driven by how we rethink the value of our resources.
myhalo is proud to support the next generation of changemakers and designers to create a more sustainable and circular future.
